A local guy pulled over to give me a ride. He said he felt bad he couldn’t help me in any way. I told him he was the first person to pull over to help, so I greatly appreciate that! Super enjoying the people I meet.
I finally made it to a hole in the wall “supermarket” for a ham and American cheese on, you guessed, white bread!

An older gentleman, just now, heard I was walking across America and offered to buy me something to eat! People are good!

Humidity is down to just under 60% which is nice, but still hot!

I’m in very rural NC – probably most rural on the entire trip – except crossing the Great Smokies late in the trip!!

Keep being grateful! It is what can bind us together! ❤️
